What is the difference in polyester roofing fabrics?
We offer three grades of polyester roofing fabrics. The softer polyester (WCP-SS), is used for uneven or rougher surfaces. We have a firmer polyester (WCP-SF), for smooth surfaces. The third grade offered is a combination of both (WCP-HS), which we offer in 5 widths to use for a variety of substrates and applications. What is the drying time of emulsion, doesn't it take 30 days to cure?
No, #298 Asphalt Emulsion’s drying time varies depending upon the application rate, temperature, humidity and air movement. In warm weather conditions a 3 to 10 gallon application should dry and be coatable in 24 to 48 hours. A heavier application of coating, shady areas or in cooler winter months will add 2 to 4 days to these times.
Does it smell?
No, there is very little odor/VOC’s with Western Colloid products. Emulsion typically has less odor than the typical paint sold today. Our line of Elastahyde coatings has an odor similar to paint.

Is it a requirement for a moisture scan to be performed upon an existing insulated roof assembly before the installation of the Western Colloid System?
It is a preferred roofing practice to perform a moisture scan prior to installing the Western Colloid Systems. A scan will locate any wet areas, which could then be removed and replaced, thereby protecting the integrity of the re-cover roof assembly, the owner, contractor, and Western Colloid.
